Delegate BTC on Starknet

Starting September 30, 2025, Starknet will allow staking with BTC-backed tokens in addition to STRK. This is an important step for the network: it gives Bitcoin holders a way to take part in securing Starknet, and it broadens the base of delegators beyond STRK alone.

What’s Changing

  • BTC staking goes live on September 30, 2025
  • Consensus split: STRK (75%) and BTC assets (25%)
  • Unstaking period reduced: 21 → 7 days
  • Governed by SNIP-31, which sets the cap and eligible assets

At launch, supported BTC tokens include WBTC, LBTC, tBTC, and SolvBTC. More may follow through governance decisions.

What This Means for Delegators

  • You can keep BTC exposure while still earning staking rewards
  • The 7-day exit window makes capital more flexible
  • The 25% cap per validator ensures decentralization and prevents over-concentration
  • Your choice of BTC wrapper matters — each one has different trust and risk assumptions
